You know who’s amazing?
You know who’s inspired thousands of people?
You know who should be a Psychologist/Social Worker?
You know who has saved lives with her beautiful drawings and life-altering words?
You know who deserves an award for helping others win at life?
THIS WOMAN! This woman right here!
Her name is Natsuki Takaya and she has created multiple manga, one manga in particular (Fruits Basket) has reached out to many. Whether they be children or adults, whether they be neglected, abused, looked down upon, suicidal, or just wishing to be loved, this book has helped them. This isn’t some silly comic book, it’s a friend that will hold your hand and tell you that you are loved, that it’s okay to feel what you’re feeling, and to reassure you that “you did good”. This book, whether comic or novel, is the best work of fiction I, personally, have found that talks about many issues and helps the reader, however small a contribution, to work through them.
This is coming from a social work major, but more importantly, a person whose life was saved because this woman decided to write Fruits Basket.
Thank You Natsuki Takaya,
